SUMMARY:East Hampton Historical Society to Host Semi Quincentennial History
  Festival at Mulford Farm
DESCRIPTION:The East Hampton Historical Society is excited to announce T
 he History Festival\, commemorating America’s semi quincentennial\, on S
 aturday\, October 17\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mulford Farm (10 James La
ne\, East Hampton). Free and open to the public\, the festival will bring
history to life through colonial demonstrations\, historical reenactors\,
performances and live music.\nMulford Farm provides a particularly meaning
ful setting for the celebration. The property recently underwent a compreh
ensive restoration highlighting its Revolutionary War-era appearance\, wit
h the exterior and interior layout remaining largely unchanged from how th
ey would have appeared in 1776. Restoring the house to its 1770s appearanc
e allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of daily life in East Ham
pton during the American Revolution\, including the essential role enslave
d people of color played in sustaining the household during the British oc
 cupation.
