DESCRIPTION:Edsel Gomez is a Puerto Rican pianist\, composer\, arranger\, a
 nd musical director based in New York City. A graduate of Berklee College 
 of Music\, Gomez has built an international career performing and recordin
 g across jazz\, Latin jazz\, and Brazilian music traditions.\nOver the cou
 rse of his career\, he has worked with artists including Dee Dee Bridgewat
 er\, Don Byron\, Jack DeJohnette\, David Sanchez\, Conrad Herwig\, Eddie P
 almieri\, and Janis Siegel. Gomez has also contributed to Grammy winning a
 nd Grammy nominated recordings as both a pianist and arranger.\nHis music 
 combines jazz improvisation with Afro Caribbean and Brazilian rhythmic tra
 ditions\, shaped by decades of international performance and collaboration
 . This quartet performance features original compositions and contemporary
  jazz rooted in a wide range of musical influences.\nThis concert will be 
 recorded for future broadcast on WLIW-FM
