 sidering the American Landscape\, curated by Donna De Salvo and Seph Rodne
 y\, opening on June 20 and on view through September 6.  Responding to t
 he prompt ‘What is the American landscape?\,’ a question timed to refl
 ect this year of our nation’s 250th anniversary\, De Salvo and Rodney h
 ave conceived of a transhistorical exhibition that explores artistic respo
 nses to the American landscape both at its inception and today.  Feature
 d Artists include: Jeremy Dennis\, Thomas Doughty\, Asher B. Durand\, Cris
 tina Fernandez\, April Gornik\, Leslie Hewitt\, Sky Hopinka\, An-My Lê\, 
 Zoe Leonard\, Richard Mayhew\, Charles Henry Miller\, Kent Monkman\, Mary 
 Nimmo Moran\, Thomas Moran\, Arcmanoro Niles\, James Perkins\, Albert Pin
 kham Ryder\, Lucy Raven\, Anastasia Samoylova\, Meg Webster\, selections f
 rom Hudson River School paintings and works on paper related to Dan Flavin
 \, and a contribution from the Center for Land Use Interpretation.\n\nThe 
 presentation will feature important works by artists associated with the H
 udson River School\, often thought to be the first true American art movem
 ent. Pivotal loans from neighboring institutions underscore the cultural a
 nd artistic history of the region: the Parrish Art Museum\, the East End
 ’s oldest institution\, founded in 1898\, will contribute Hudson River S
 chool paintings by Asher B. Durand\, Thomas Doughty\, Charles Henry Miller
 \, Thomas Moran\, Mary Nimmo Moran\, and Albert Pinkham Ryder\, highlighti
 ng the Parrish’s collection and role in presenting American art\; Guild 
 Hall\, founded in 1931\, will lend a painting by Thomas Moran\, who was ba
 sed in East Hampton\, underscoring the legacy of the institution as a meet
 ing place for area artists with its galleries and theater\; and Dia Art 
 Foundation\, who will be lending selections of Hudson River School works o
 n paper which they acquired in consultation with Dan Flavin as part of the
 ir long-term relationship with the artist\, a partnership that also includ
 ed the founding of the Dan Flavin Art Institute at Dia Bridgehampton.
