Alec Baldwin Crashes SUV Into Tree in East Hampton — Says He And Brother Stephen Are “Fine”

Amagansett resident Alec Baldwin crashed his SUV into a tree while driving in East Hampton on Oct. 13, 2025, according to authorities.

The front of the white Range Rover Baldwin was driving was dented, but he was unhurt, officials said. Stephen Baldwin, the actor’s brother, was also in the car at the time of the crash and was not injured.

Reps for Stephen Baldwin told TMZ, “Stephen is doing fine and is grateful no one was injured. He appreciates the concern and can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well.”

Baldwin later addressed the incident on  Instagram, weaving in praise for the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ran Oct. 3–13. Baldwin, who serves as co-chair of the festival’s board executive committee, attended screenings and participated in panel discussions throughout the week.

Baldwin said the Range Rover actually belonged to his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, and described what happened:

“I was in a car accident this morning, I’m fine. My brother Stephen was out visiting me on Long Island and we spent the weekend out there for the film festival. A guy cut me off in a truck — a big garbage truck, I mean a garbage truck the size of a whale. I’ve never seen a garbage truck that big. To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big, fat tree. It crushed my car — my wife’s car. I feel bad about that, but it’s all fine. I’m fine, and my brother’s fine.”

He went on to thank the East Hampton Town Police Department:

“Thank you to the East Hampton police department for coming to my aid. They came and we filed a report. Officer Gerken — lovely guy — was as nice and pleasant as can be. My wife’s car is pretty smashed up, big tree, big fat tree. I’m going to L.A. to see my family, can’t wait. Going out to California to gather my family together and spend a few days out there and come home.”

Baldwin closed his post by praising his wife, Hilaria — a comment some interpreted as a nod to her recent appearance on Dancing With the Stars.

“I’m still so proud of my wife — Hilaria, I love you more than anything, and I’m very proud of you,” he said.

As a final comedic gesture, Baldwin twirled his finger near his temple and added, “I’m fine, I’m fine — other than [gesture].”

This is a developing story.
