A “Boo-tiful Night” benefit on Halloween in support of New York State Democratic Assemblymember Rebecca A. Seawright took place at the Manhattan residence of East Hamptonite and philanthropist Patti Kenner. Proceeds from the event supported the UJA-Federation of New York’s Israel Emergency Fund and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY).

After wine, hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats, the festive crowd — many in costume and many with dual residences in New York City and the East End — gathered in Kenner’s living room to hear Assemblymember Seawright speak about the state of the city and progress in Albany. Attorney and former U.S. Rep. Liz Holtzman attended and spoke highly of Seawright’s record and efforts.
Assemblymember Seawright thanked the guests and host Kenner, saying, “It is the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval if you launch your campaign in front of Patti’s fireplace — Governor Hochul, Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, you name it.”
Kenner, who is hosting an event with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries this month, spoke enthusiastically about the importance of supporting politicians like Seawright.
“She’s there every day fighting for the laws that we think need to be passed,” Kenner said. “We’re just supporting her, we’re just watching her back. We want them to understand how much we appreciate them.”
Dr. Jeffrey D. Fisher and Dr. Jack Drescher discussed the challenges Americans are facing in healthcare. Guests asked questions about SNAP benefits, crime, education and the constant robocalls targeting seniors.

Assemblymember Seawright introduced Marcia Sudolsky, co-founder of Tri State Maxed Out Women’s PAC, a female-led grassroots organization supporting pro-choice, viable, Democratic women running for office (Congress, President, VP). Sudolsky confirmed what the room already knew: that Seawright is “extraordinary” and Kenner equally so for her generosity and support of strong candidates for political office.
Assemblymember Seawright has represented New York’s 76th District — the Upper East Side, Yorkville and Roosevelt Island — for 11 years. She is the first woman to serve the district and has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in state funding for public schools, senior centers, parks and nonprofits. She serves on numerous committees in Albany and is a champion for public schools, elder rights, women’s rights, the LGBTQ+ community and people with disabilities.
