Star-Studded Palm Beach Event Supports Local Families Facing Cancer
On March 13, The Breakers Palm Beach hosted the sold-out 6th Annual Dance the Night Away Gala™, benefiting the Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope (CAHH). Presented by Fred Astaire Dance Studios, the ballroom spectacular raised $1.4 million to support local families battling cancer.
Derek Hough, four-time Emmy winner and six-time Dancing with the Stars Mirrorball champion, returned as master of ceremonies. Twelve local dancers—including Gracie Abercrombie, Brittany Alexander, Lisa Bagocius, Marco Chianese, Ally Coulter, Tara Empson, Liz Rohaidy, Jacob Sinclair, Marissa Stissi, Missy Sullivan, Paul Tripaldi, and Rosalyn Yellin—took the floor after months of intensive training, delivering show-stopping performances.
Celebrity judges Cassie Donegan, 2026 Miss America; Susan Lucci, Emmy-winning actress; Suebelle Robbins, Palm Beach style icon; and Allison Stockel, executive director of Glazer Hall, helped award top honors. Liz Rohaidy won Top Dancer, while Rosalyn Yellin earned the Lois Pope People’s Choice Award for fundraising excellence.
A moving tribute honored Richard “Rick” Hurtado, partner of CEO Stanton Collemer, who passed away just a week earlier. Guests lit the ballroom with phone lights in remembrance, highlighting the evening’s mission: bringing help and hope to families facing cancer.
The gala was chaired by Melissa Butterworth and Marina Galli, with Grand Honorary Chairs Barbara and Al Marulli, and supported by a leadership team and committee. Presented by Dr. Hamid and Soori Ardalan, with generous support from Sheila Buchbinder, MD; Melissa Butterworth; Lora Drasner; Marina Galli; Kristina Gustafson; Gloria Herman; Evelyn Treacy; Michelle Worth, and table sponsors CHANEL Palm Beach, Lois Pope, David Drennen and David Sarama, Mark and Barbara Zand.
