The evening brought together community members, supporters, local elected officials, civic leaders, and longtime advocates for OLA’s only fundraiser of the year — an event that helps sustain the organization’s year-round programs serving families throughout the East End.

At a time when immigrant communities across the country are facing increased uncertainty and challenges, OLA’s mission of advocacy, education, leadership development, and community support remains more important than ever.

The event was chaired by former New York State Assemblyman Fred Thiele, a longtime East End public servant and current OLA Board Member, whose continued commitment to the community reflects the organization’s decades-long work to build a safer, healthier, and more inclusive region.

Guests gathered for an evening featuring culinary offerings by Janet O’Brien Caterers + Events, wines from Wölffer Estate Vineyard, beverages from Peconic Beverage, award-winning tequila from Montaukila, live music by Latin Moon, and a silent auction curated by artist and curator Yubal Márquez Fleites.

“Sabor is much more than a celebration,” said Minerva Perez, Executive Director of OLA. “It is one of the most important ways our community comes together to invest in the future of the East End.”

Funds raised through Sabor support OLA’s programs throughout the year, including family support services, youth leadership initiatives, educational advocacy, civic engagement programs, cultural programming, and efforts to strengthen connections across the region’s diverse communities.

The evening also reflected the broad coalition of supporters who continue to stand behind OLA’s work, with many local elected officials and community leaders joining the celebration.
