Spicy Cajun Fish Tacos

Ingredients

2 Tbsp Cajun spices
1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
4 fillets of white fish (fluke, for example)
1 Tsp Vegetable Oil
8 Tortillas
1 Sliced Avocado
1/2 Cup Shredded Lettuce
4 Sliced Spring Onions
8 Tbsp Salsa (or to taste)
16 Ounces Sour Cream
1 Sliced Lemon (to taste)
1 Clove Finely Chopped Garlic

Marinating the fish in Cajun spices and a bit of cayenne pepper adds bold flavor and keeps it tender. Finished with a zesty homemade dressing and served in warm tortillas, this dish is a vibrant and easy main course that’s perfect for summer eating.

Method

On a large plate, mix Cajun spice, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of seasoning. Coat the fish well in the mixture.

Heat a little oil in a frying pan, then add the fish. Cook over medium heat until golden brown on the outside. Lower the heat and keep cooking until the fish is tender and flakes easily, about 10 minutes. Cook in batches if needed.

While the fish is cooking, make the dressing by whisking all the ingredients together with some seasoning.

Warm the tortillas in the microwave for 5 to 10 seconds until they are soft and easy to handle.

To assemble, layer avocado, lettuce, and spring onion onto each tortilla. Add a spoonful of salsa, top with generous flakes of the spiced fish, and finish with a drizzle of the zesty dressing.

Fresh, tasty, and simple, these Cajun fish tacos are a crowd-pleasing favorite that brings a taste of summer to your table.
