Hamptons Diary: Meet Princess Mimi
Dear Hamptons Diary,
There are real princesses in the Hamptons, but here’s one who comes in fur. She’s flawless, fabulous, and four-legged: Mimi, The Pampered Pup.
She struts. She sparkles. And she’s big on attitude. The cutest Jack Russell in her fancy Hermès harness and jacket.
When walking down Main Street in Sag Harbor, Mimi insists on checking out every store—because treats are part of the deal.
At Chase Bank, you’d think she has an account. And for all I know, she might. She literally jumps for joy at the bank teller who gives her treats.
Mimi is also quite popular at The American Hotel, where she prefers the broiled lobster. She loves their shrimp cocktail.
Shy? Never. She thrives on attention. At Tutto il Giorno, she’s allowed her own seat at the table—same at The Palm in East Hampton.
At Happy Feet in Sag Harbor, she enjoys the calm while her mommy gets a foot massage.
Princess Mimi also has formal duties, like reviewing paperwork at The Carpetman in Southampton, and making sure everything is in order at the Mercedes dealership.
She loves riding around the Hamptons in the car, showing off her irresistible face.
But the most fun adventure for Mimi is, quite frankly, a royal embarrassment. She loves humping on the leg of her mommy. Fortunately, it’s always done in private.
