Sculpture Meets Landscape in Bridgehampton at ‘Uncommon Ground VI’

Shhhh … the East End’s sculpture experts are quietly staging one of the most compelling art events of the season.

On Saturday, September 13th, from 4 to 6 p.m., Uncommon Ground VI will take place in Bridgehampton. This is the sixth edition of the Hamptons Sculpture SIGHTS series—the one collectors and curators actually discuss—set in the landscaped calm of 36 Mitchell Lane.

The event is a collaboration between Peconic Land Trust and C Fine Art’s Cheryl Sokolow. Her eye for site-specific sculpture consistently attracts notable talent and impressive installations without the typical Hamptons buzz. Expect to see works by big names like Kevin Barrett, Norman Mooney, John Clement, Joel Perlman, Hans Van de Bovenkamp, Jane Manus, and others. These pieces will be installed within Bridge Gardens’ actual ecosystem, not in white cubes or pruned hedges. It’s less about spectacle and more about how the space interacts with the art—sunlight, shadow, steel, and calm.

Come for the sculpture. Stay for the insider experience—and maybe capture a late golden hour photo or two that says, “Yes, I do know where the real art is.”
