Upscale Mexican Coche Comedor Is Closing Its Doors

Beloved Mexican restaurant Coche Comedor is closing its doors after six years in Amagansett. Last day is September 26th. The vibrant décor and delicious food  —especially those mini tuna tartare tacos — will surely be missed.

Here’s the announcement on Coche Comedor’s Instagram:

“It’s with tremendous regret that we announce the closure of Coche Comedor, effective Saturday 9/27/2025. Over the past six years, we have poured our heart and soul into this restaurant to make it a part of the community.

Unfortunately, as many of you know, running a seasonalal business, especially a restaurant in the Hamptons, has grown increasingly difficult.

We are incredibly proud of our team and all that we have accomplished together at Coche. We deeply appreciate the support you have shown us throughout these years. We hope you will continue to support our other restaurants in the group such as @rowdyhallamg, @lafondita_amg, @nickandtonis and @townlinebbq.”

Coche Comedor, which is Spanish for ‘dining car’, is part of the Honest Man Hospitality Group. Talented Executive Chef Joe Realmuto’s menu features wood-grilled specialities, hand-pressed tortillas and shareable dishes. The restaurant’s colorful décor is unique for its table tops, created by local artists.

SPARK wishes the team the best and we can’t wait to see what is next for that space in Amagansett on Montauk Highway.
