A hands-on workshop in Riverhead walks creatives through the process—from concept to printing, budgeting and marketing—led by the East End photographer and author.
Thinking about turning your creative work into a book? East End photographer and author Jim Lennon is hosting a hands-on workshop at East End Arts in Riverhead on Thursday, March 26.
Lennon will lead Self-Publishing an Art Book, offering a practical roadmap for artists, photographers and creatives looking to bring their work to print—on their own terms.

Drawing from his experience publishing his first book, The Shoreline Book, Lennon will cover everything from concept to completion, including budgeting, timelines, marketing, sponsorships and building a professional support team.
“When publishing your own art book, content is king,” Lennon says.
He also encourages participants to define their goals early: “Ask, ‘Who is this relevant to?’ and ‘What is it exactly that you want to get out of this?’”
Lennon will also talk about the many ways one can set an objective and take advantage of publishing a book “to help define your career and who you are.”
Jim Lennon has been creating award-winning photography for regional and national advertisers for over 45 years in his studio on Long Island. His photographs have been featured in thousands of ad campaigns and corporate communications. He taught at Adelphi University for 17 years.
His self-published book, Lennon’s book, The Shoreline Book is a 196 page book of coastal scenes he photographed from the shores of Long Island, NY. Lennon’s photographs of Spirit’s Promise Equine Rescue Ranch in Baiting Hollow are featured in a 112 page book title Kindred Spirits.
