Guild Hall’s 40th Academy Awards Dinner in NYC Honors Katie Couric, Carl Bernstein

The annual Guild Hall awards dinner honoring achievements in the arts & letters will also induct new members Victor Garber, Sarah Sze and Colson Whitehead.

One of the Hamptons’ most influential cultural nights returns to the Rainbow Room in New York City when Guild Hall’s 40th Academy of the Arts Achievement Awards Dinner takes place on April 27, 2026.

The event honors Katie Couric and Carl Bernstein with Lifetime Achievement Awards in Media & Communications, and Leila Straus with the Special Award for Leadership and Philanthropy.

Staged 65 floors above midtown Manhattan with sweeping skyline views, the annual awards dinner recognizes Guild Hall members in the Hamptons community at the top of their respective fields.

“Guild Hall honors Katie Couric, Carl Bernstein and Leila Straus for exemplifying and championing the core values of integrity, accountability and public trust in a rapidly evolving cultural landscape,” said Andrea Grover, executive director of Guild Hall.

The evening also welcomes new Academy of the Arts inductees: Victor Garber, Sarah Sze and Colson Whitehead—a cross-discipline class spanning film, visual art, and literature.

Hosted by Academy President Susan Stroman, the night includes a special performance by the Resistance Revival Chorus.
