East Hampton Town Supervisor Debate Between Kathee Burke-Gonzalez and Jerry Larsen to Stream Live May 13 on LTV

With no Republican candidate in the race and in-person attendance sold out, voters can watch the Democratic primary showdown live online May 13.

East Hampton voters will get a closer look at the race that could determine the town’s next leader when incumbent Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez and East Hampton Village Mayor Jerry Larsen face off in a live Democratic primary debate Wednesday, May 13.

Hosted at LTV Studios in Wainscott, the hourlong debate begins at 6 p.m. While in-person attendance is sold out, viewers can watch the debate live via LTV’s YouTube channel.

The event comes ahead of the June 23 Democratic primary in what has become East Hampton’s highest-profile local race of the election season.

High Stakes, and no Republican Candidate

The stakes are especially high because no Republican candidate filed to run for supervisor, meaning the Democratic primary winner will likely become East Hampton’s next town supervisor.

Candidates for East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathy Burke-Gonzalez (incumbent) and Jerry Larsen (current EH Mayor) will debate at LTV on May 13

Burke-Gonzalez, elected supervisor in 2025 after previously serving on the Town Board, is seeking another term after focusing on environmental resilience, housing initiatives, public safety investments, and long-term infrastructure planning during her tenure.

Larsen, the current mayor of East Hampton Village, is mounting a challenge centered on his executive leadership experience and has positioned himself as an alternative voice on town governance.

The contest has drawn unusual attention for a local Democratic primary, with divisions emerging within East Hampton’s Democratic political establishment as Larsen challenges the party-backed incumbent.

For East Hampton residents unable to attend in person, the livestream offers a front-row seat to what could be the defining debate in a race likely to decide who leads Town Hall next.

The Debate will be livestreamed @ltveasthampton at YouTube, May 13, 2026.
