Hamptons Fine Art Fair Returns for 20th Anniversary With 150 Galleries, Global Artists and Marilyn Monroe Tribute
The milestone fair brings together world-class galleries, emerging talent, iconic exhibitions and Spark Hamptons’ exclusive “Spark of Inspiration” collector conversation in Southampton.
Hamptons Fine Art Fair Celebrates 20 Years of Art, Discovery and Inspiration
The Hamptons summer season is synonymous with unforgettable experiences — from oceanfront gatherings to cultural moments that bring the East End’s creative community together. This year, the Hamptons Fine Art Fair marks its 20th anniversary with its most ambitious edition yet, transforming Southampton into a global destination for collectors, artists and art lovers.Lucy Cookson, Booth #332 Martinez Gallery
Featuring 150 curated galleries and top sponsor exhibitors, the fair welcomes 60 new galleries from around the world, bringing an extraordinary range of contemporary, modern and historic works to the Hamptons — with participating galleries representing artistic voices from destinations including Vietnam, South Africa and beyond.
For collectors and curious newcomers alike, the fair offers a rare opportunity for discovery, with works by 500 emerging, mid-career and blue-chip artists spanning generations, styles and movements.
And this year, the entrance itself becomes part of the experience: visitors will be welcomed by one of the world’s most recognizable symbols of freedom — the Statue of Liberty — creating a dramatic arrival moment before stepping into a celebration of global art.Rick Friedman, Hamponts Art Fair producer, with cast used to make the Statue of Liberty, by artist Frederic-Auguste Bertholdi, which will be on display and for sale at the Hamptons Art Fair grounds, July 9-12, 2026. A Global Art Experience in the Heart of Southampton
The international spotlight shines brighter than ever, with six galleries from the United Kingdom crossing the pond to participate in this milestone edition, showcasing the strength and diversity of British art.
Collectors will also have the opportunity to explore “The Trailblazers of Hamptons’ Abstraction,” featuring important works by celebrated artists from the groundbreaking Abstract Expressionist era of the 1950s through the 1970s — a movement that forever changed the art world.
Marilyn Monroe, The Last Sitting™ and a Centennial Celebration
One of the fair’s most anticipated highlights is “Marilyn@100,” a special Hamptons tribute celebrating the centennial of Marilyn Monroe’s birth.Marilyn Monroe drinking champagne, photographed by Bert Stern, on view at the Hamptons Art Fair, 2026.
Presented by the Estate of Bert Stern™ and Hamptons Magazine, the exhibition features The Last Sitting™, the iconic final photo session of Monroe captured by legendary photographer Bert Stern just weeks before her death.
As Monroe famously said:
“It’s not true I had nothing on — I had the radio on.”
The exhibition offers a glimpse into the enduring cultural influence of one of the world’s most photographed and celebrated icons.
Celebrating Artists, Collectors and the Next Generation
The Hamptons Fine Art Fair continues its tradition of honoring the people who shape the art world with the fourth annual Hamptons Artists Hall of Fame inductions, recognizing four distinguished honorees on Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m., sponsored by The Southampton Press.
The fair will also welcome a new generation of collectors during the Young Collectors Party on Friday, July 10, from 5 to 7 p.m., bringing together young art enthusiasts and members of prestigious New York cultural institutions, including The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The Frick Collection and others.
Spark Hamptons Presents “Spark of Inspiration”
Art is more than what hangs on a wall — it tells stories, sparks conversations and often becomes part of the collector’s personal journey.
On Friday, July 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Spark Hamptons will host its exclusive VIP experience, “Spark of Inspiration: How Art Collecting Sparked the Lives of Leading Collectors.”
Moderated by Spark Hamptons Editor Angela LaGreca, the VIP event will feature prominent art collectors, including Rick Friedman, producer of the Hamptons Art Fair, in conversation about what “sparks their inspiration” when it comes to art.Joy Behar, Rick Friedman.
