All the News That’s Sparking Conversation | The Spark File 01. 22.26

Who’s sparking conversation this week: Jean Shafiroff, the Cuomo brothers, Julie Keyes, the Alexander brothers, Kelly Ripa, Susan Lucci, Jill Martin

And the Most Glamorous Gown Award Goes to …. Jean Shafiroff

If there were an awards show for best-dressed philanthropist, Jean Shafiroff would win—hands down.

Shafiroff not only does extraordinary good, hosting major charity events and supporting meaningful causes across NYC, the Hamptons, and Palm Beach—she does it impeccably dressed. Her gowns are often the talk of the town (and social media).

British fashion and society magazine Tatler took notice, including Shafiroff in its annual “Gowns of the Year 2025” feature. She earned the nod for a New York Women’s Foundation event she hosted last April in NYC, wearing a stunning pink satin work of art by Victor de Souza.

Other style stars on Tatler’s glam-and-glitzy list included Paris Hilton, Emma Stone, Millie Bobby Brown, the Princess of Wales, and several other princesses and ladies of royalty. (See more: Tatler, “Gowns of the Year 2025”)

Julie Keyes Brings Her Curatorial Eye to Newport Art Museum

Julie Keyes has more than an eye for art—she has a major client list and a thriving gallery in Sag Harbor.

Cuomo Radio Watch: Is Andrew Next?

Is former New York Gov. and former mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo looking for a new gig—in radio?

Billionaire WABC radio owner and host John Catsimatidis may have spilled the beans on his podcast when he had Cuomo on as a guest.

Meanwhile, Cuomo’s younger brother beat him to the punch. Chris Cuomo is back on SiriusXM with “Cuomo Mornings,” airing 7–9 a.m., promising “straight talk, bipartisan voices, and common sense.” That’s in addition to his weekday primetime show CUOMO on NewsNation—and all that walking and talking he does out East for his podcast and YouTube channel, The Chris Cuomo Project.

Then again, Cuomo has a lot to say.

Alexander Brothers Case Heads to Trial

The jet-setting, ultra-lux real estate brothers Alan and Oren Alexander—fixtures for more than a decade in big deals and beautiful rooms—have been in jail since 2024.

They, along with a third brother, Tal Alexander, face federal sex trafficking charges and dozens of criminal lawsuits. As they prepare to go on trial, their parents are speaking out, insisting their sons are innocent.

“We only ask for a fair process, grounded in facts, where their voices can finally be heard,” they said. We are all ears.

Kelly Ripa Teases ‘All My Children’ Lifetime Movies

Is All My Children primed for a comeback—on Lifetime?

Make that two movies, according to Kelly Ripa. On a recent episode of her SiriusXM show “Let’s Talk Off Camera,” Ripa revealed that she and husband Mark Consuelos are developing two All My Children movies for Lifetime under their production company, Milojo.

The project is “in the very early stages,” Ripa said. When she asked guest Susan Lucci whether she’d be interested in reprising her iconic role as Erica Kane—a character she played for more than 41 years—Lucci was all in.

“I’d love to play Erica Kane again,” Lucci said. “It would be a lot of fun—are you kidding?”

Lucci, anything but retired, will also appear at the 92nd Street Y on Feb. 3 to discuss her new memoir, “La Lucci,” in conversation with Joan Lunden.

Jill Martin Recovering After Emergency Surgery

Beloved NBC host, entrepreneur, breast cancer survivor, and advocate Jill Martin is recovering at her Southampton home following emergency surgery.

Martin shared that she underwent urgent surgery to repair skin damage caused by radiation therapy related to her breast cancer treatment. She described the procedure as “preventative and proactive,” adding that it was an emergency “in the sense that it could turn into something bigger” if left untreated.

The good news: Martin’s cancer has not returned. We wish her well—and picture her snuggled up with one of her beloved Sherpas.
