Julie Halston Brings ‘Virtual Halston Live’ to Birdland for One-Night-Only Comedy Event
The Tony-honored Broadway favorite joins playwright Paul Rudnick for an evening of sharp storytelling, insider laughs and live conversation — with livestream access available.
Broadway favorite Julie Halston brings her hit digital series Virtual Halston to the stage Monday night for a special one-night-only performance at Birdland Jazz Club.
The live edition of “Virtual Halston Live” begins at 7 p.m. and will feature Halston in conversation with acclaimed playwright and novelist Paul Rudnick, offering an evening of hilarious storytelling, theatrical anecdotes and behind-the-scenes banter from two of New York’s sharpest comedic voices.
Originally created during the pandemic by Halston, Jim Caruso and Ruby Locknar, Virtual Halston became a cult favorite for its smart, irreverent interviews with Broadway stars, writers and cultural icons.
Halston shared with SPARK that the theme is “RETURN TO FUN!” (yes, all caps).
Halston most recently appeared in the Broadway revival of Our Town, adding to a celebrated stage résumé that includes Tootsie, Hairspray, Gypsy and Anything Goes.
In 2021, she received the Tony Awards’ Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for her advocacy work with the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Television audiences also know her as the deliciously eccentric Bitsy Von Muffling from Sex and the City and And Just Like That….
