Is This The New Disturbing Trend In The Hamptons?

A visit to the Julie Keyes Gallery in Sag Harbor is always artful and entertaining. And when Keyes gets going, you learn something, like this disturbing trend she sees running rampant in the Hamptons. Take a look at this video.

Are people just too lazy to pronounce each Hampton hamlet’s full name? Or is something else going on?

One thing’s for sure, Keyes not only has a keen eye for great art, she has a unique and wry sense of humor that keeps on giving. And she can’t help but be on top of all the Hamptons happenings since her gallery on Main Street is right next to the popular American Hotel — yes THE American Hotel where Justin Timberlake was once arrested.

Have you seen or participated in this trend of shortening each Hampton hamlet’s name so Southampton becomes ‘South’ and Sag Harbor becomes ‘Sag’? Does it bother you as much as it bothers Julie ?
