Beauty in the Blizzard: NYC Snow Scenes Through the Lens of Sonia Moskowitz

View Gallery 14 Photos

Veteran photographer Sonia Moskowitz captures New Yorkers braving the 2026 Blizzard Fernando—from snowy Central Park strolls to playful Upper West Side moments.

New Yorkers never let a little snow keep them indoors, and Blizzard Fernando — with its record winds and heavy snowfall — was no exception.

Sonia Moskowitz ventured out with her camera, capturing stunning shots across New York City, including Central Park and Riverside Park on the Upper West Side.

From the breathtaking beauty of snow-laden streets to playful scenes of friends building snow sculptures, Moskowitz documents each moment with a keen eye — even the surreal, like the guy walking through the blizzard in shorts, as if it were spring (wishful thinking).
