Readers share dramatic snow scenes from Southampton, Sag Harbor, East Hampton and beyond after bomb cyclone Fernando blanketed the region in winter white.

The Blizzard of 2026 is officially in the history books — and now the digging out begins.

The powerful bomb cyclone known as Fernando swept across the East End of Long Island, triggering travel bans, closing schools, canceling thousands of flights and leaving many without power — while dumping over two feet of snow, and in some places, even more.

In its wake, the storm transformed towns and villages across the East End into a striking winter landscape.

Community Photos Show The Snow Blast — and Beauty

View our gallery of photos shared with Spark Hamptons by friends and readers from across the region, showing that in every challenge, there is also an upside: a child’s delight in freshly fallen snow, dogs bounding through powder, a lone cardinal, lending a pop of red against a field of white — and yes, some very stubborn driveways.

Be safe. Be careful. Stay warm.

Remember: Life is short. Make sparks. (And spring is less than 25 days away: March 20, 2026.)
