Marta Sánchez — Solo Piano | McIver Piano Series
Hamptons JazzFest presents Marta Sánchez in solo piano performance at Hoie Hall at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Hampton, as part of the McIver Piano Series. The program features original compositions, adventurous improvisation, and contemporary jazz shaped by lyricism, rhythm, and creative interplay.
Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Sánchez moved to New York City in 2011 on a Fulbright Scholarship to study Jazz Performance at New York University. She has since built one of the most critically acclaimed careers in contemporary jazz, earning praise from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, and DownBeat.
Her albums have twice been named among The New York Times’ best of the year — ‘Partenika’ in 2015 and ‘El Rayo de Luz’ in 2019. In 2022 she joined the David Murray Quartet, performing at the Village Vanguard in 2023 and 2024. DownBeat named her a Rising Star in 2025.
This solo performance at one of the East End’s most intimate and acoustically beautiful venues offers a rare opportunity to experience Sánchez’s singular artistry up close.
