About Hamptons Pride

Founded five years ago by Tom House, who serves as president, Hamptons Pride, Inc. is a volunteer-run nonprofit celebrating and honoring the LGBTQIA+ community on the East End of Long Island. The organization hosts year-round programming, including Pride celebrations, World AIDS Day observances, film screenings, and fundraisers that foster community, creativity, and connection across all identities.

Founded to preserve local LGBTQIA+ history, Hamptons Pride is working to establish a landmark at the former site of The Swamp, the longtime gay club in what is now Wainscott Green in East Hampton. The planned monument will honor decades of LGBTQIA+ life along Wainscott’s “Miracle Mile,” including historic venues such as The Attic and Out of This World, while creating a welcoming gathering space for future generations.

Hamptons Pride, Inc. is a New York State–chartered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a board of directors and supported through tax-deductible contributions from individuals, foundations, corporate donors, and government agencies.
