Rez Abbasi & Kiran Ahluwalia Quartet
Hamptons JazzFest presents Rez Abbasi & Kiran Ahluwalia Quartet at The Church in Sag Harbor — a performance that weaves together jazz, Indian classical music, and global influences into a sound entirely their own.
Rez Abbasi is a Pakistan-born, New York-based jazz guitarist, composer, and producer whose work draws on jazz, jazz fusion, and Indian classical traditions. Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass, he has built a career defined by inventive improvisation and cross-cultural musical dialogue, collaborating with artists including Billy Hart and saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa.
Kiran Ahluwalia is a Canadian singer-songwriter and Juno Award winner whose music infuses Indian classical and folk traditions with African desert blues and Western styles. Born in Patna, India and raised in Toronto, she is recognized internationally for her powerful voice and genre-defying artistry — winning the Songlines Music Awards Best Newcomer honor and earning multiple Juno nominations.
Together Abbasi and Ahluwalia bring a singular sound to the stage — grounded in deep musical tradition yet completely contemporary. This performance at The Church in Sag Harbor promises an intimate and transporting evening unlike anything else in the Hamptons JazzFest season.
