Aero Launches New Los Angeles-to–Hamptons Flights for Summer Travel

The semi-private service connects the West Coast and East Hampton with a streamlined transfer—and it might even beat a Friday drive from Manhattan.

Leave Los Angeles after breakfast and make it to East Hampton for dinner.

At the height of summer, that might actually take less time than driving from Manhattan to the Hamptons.

Coast-to-Coast, Streamlined Luxury

Luxury air carrier Aero is launching a new semi-private Los Angeles-to-Hamptons service for the summer season, offering travelers a streamlined coast-to-coast journey offering travelers a streamlined coast-to-coast journey that cuts down on airport transfers and the usual trek to the Hamptons.

Beginning June 22 and running through Aug. 30, the weekend service departs from Van Nuys Airport on Fridays and returns on Sundays. While not technically a nonstop flight, passengers travel on a single itinerary, flying aboard an Aero Gulfstream IV-SP before transferring to a BLADE aircraft for the final leg into East Hampton Airport.

“Some trips look easy on a map and feel impossible in practice. Even New York to the Hamptons can take half a Friday in typical summer traffic,” Aero CEO Ben Klein said in a statement. “This is exactly what Aero is for: routes our guests want to fly, built to ensure the journey is as easy as it is luxurious.”

The service departs Van Nuys at 8:30 a.m. Pacific on Fridays, with passengers arriving in East Hampton in the late afternoon. Return flights leave Sundays at 2 p.m. Eastern.

Perks with the Full Private Charter

Designed to offer many of the perks of private aviation without chartering an entire aircraft, Aero’s 12-seat Gulfstream features spacious leather seating, Starlink Wi-Fi, a premium open bar and seasonal food offerings from favorites including Erewhon, Sadelle’s and Parm. The airline is also pet-friendly, welcoming dogs of all sizes.

Passengers check in through Aero’s private terminal, arriving just 20 minutes before departure and avoiding the long security lines associated with commercial airports. Checked luggage transfers with travelers to the BLADE flight bound for East Hampton.

Luxury, of course, comes at a price. Fares start at about $7,500 per seat, depending on the travel date.

The Hamptons As A Bi-Coastal Destination

The new route is the latest sign of the Hamptons’ growing appeal as a bi-coastal destination, making it easier for West Coast homeowners, summer renters and weekend visitors to head east without navigating crowded airports or bumper-to-bumper traffic.

For anyone who has spent a July Friday crawling along the Long Island Expressway, the idea of touching down in East Hampton instead of sitting in traffic may be the ultimate summer luxury.

Travelers interested in the new route can find schedules and book seats through Aero. Summer service runs Fridays and Sundays from June 22 through Aug. 30.
