LongHouse Reserve Summer Benefit 2026: Sean Scully, Dr. Bruce Horten Honored at Beautopia Gala

The annual East Hampton benefit celebrated art, nature and philanthropy while raising funds for LongHouse Reserve’s gardens, sculpture collection and educational programs.

More than 300 guests gathered at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton for the annual Beautopia Summer Benefit, honoring acclaimed artist Sean Scully and philanthropist Dr. Bruce Horten during one of the Hamptons’ signature summer arts events.

The evening celebrated LongHouse Reserve’s mission of connecting art, nature and community while raising funds for its educational programs, public initiatives, 16-acre gardens, world-class sculpture collection and the preservation of founder Jack Lenor Larsen’s iconic home.

Art historian Joachim Pissarro presented Scully’s award, recognizing the internationally renowned artist’s lifelong contributions to contemporary art. LongHouse President Louis Bradbury honored Dr. Horten for his extraordinary philanthropy and longstanding commitment to supporting the arts.

The magical garden setting was transformed by gala co-chairs Raisa Lopez-Rhoden and Gael Towey with vibrant décor, seasonal cuisine and festive cocktails, creating an unforgettable midsummer celebration.

Guests included Patrick Amato, Emma Clurman, Christopher Coy, Sherri Donghia, Anne Erni, David Fink, Dr. Derick T. George, Michael Jones, Deborah Nevins, Suzanne Slesin, Peter H. Olsen, Linda Willett, Peter Bickford, Greg McCarthy, Mary Jane and Charles Brock, Michele and Marty Cohen, Renée Cox, Tom D’Agostino Jr., Laurie Lambrecht, Jada Loveless, Faith Popcorn, Bastienne Schmidt, Lee Skolnick and Edwina von Gal.

A highlight of the evening was LongHouse’s annual art auction, led by Dianne Benson, featuring works donated by celebrated artists including Sean Scully, Alex Katz, Daniel Arsham, Ross Bleckner, Philip Guston, Robert Motherwell, Ugo Rondinone, Ai Weiwei and dozens of other internationally recognized contemporary artists.
