Southampton Arts Center welcomed more than 600 guests for the opening reception of East End Collected IX, the ninth edition of its annual exhibition celebrating artists and the creative community of Long Island’s East End.

Originally conceived and curated by artist Paton Miller, this year’s exhibition marks the second time Miller has co-curated the show with Christina Mossaides Strassfield, executive director of Southampton Arts Center.

With no prescribed theme, East End Collected IX brings together 29 artists working across painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking and ceramics. The exhibition reflects the curators’ view of the East End as an environment that continues to inspire artists while also introducing artists whose work has not previously been featured in the series.

“Our opening night is a wonderful reflection of the creative energy that makes the East End so special,” Strassfield said. “I am thrilled to see this exceptional group of creatives come together and excited for our community to experience their work.”
