The Serhant empire just became a family affair. Emilia Bechrakis Serhant has officially joined her husband Ryan Serhant’s fast-growing brokerage SERHANT. as a licensed real estate agent.
It’s a pivot worthy of a Hamptons cocktail-party conversation. The move marks a new chapter for Emilia, 40, whose career has spanned maritime law, title insurance and publishing.
Now she’ll be clocking in at the firm’s New York City headquarters in Soho (reportedly sitting next to fellow real estate agent Melissa Post) where her office sits just down the hall from Ryan, 41 — the ever-energetic founder and CEO of SERHANT. and star of Netflix’s Owning Manhattan.
The couple’s story has always played out big. They met in 2014, got engaged in Times Square on national TV, married in Greece two years later, and now parent their 6-year-old daughter, Zena. Along the way Emilia picked up three law degrees from top U.K. universities, has held senior roles in land title services and has written the children’s book To the Moon and Back for You, inspired by her fertility journey. She has also been active in philanthropic efforts with organizations including Water.org and Building Better Futures.
But real estate, she insists, has always been in her DNA. “Growing up in a real estate family between New York and Athens, I have always had a passion for the business,” she said. Her decision to sign with SERHANT., she stated in a press release, had “absolutely nothing to do with my husband.” Instead, she called the brokerage “the best and most innovative firm to build a career in real estate today.” Whew. Good call.
Ryan, a celebrity real estate guru who founded SERHANT. in 2020 and has since grown it into one of the fastest-scaling brokerages in the country, praised the addition. “Emilia is brilliant, determined, and has already achieved so much in her career,” he said. “I’m thrilled she’s now officially part of the team.”
The announcement coincided with the firm’s five-year anniversary and annual training conference in Orlando, where Ryan hinted at “big surprises” on Instagram before confirming the news.
Emilia, of course, is no stranger to reality TV cameos, having appeared on Million Dollar Listing New York, Ryan’s Wedding, Ryan’s Renovation and, more recently, Owning Manhattan. How this plays out at SERHANT. remains to be seen. Lights, camera — closings?
In a market where every edge counts, the Serhants are positioning themselves as a full-service power duo. Or as Ryan put it: “Now, we get to build something even bigger — together.”
