The invitation-only Hamptons car show celebrated its 10th anniversary with rare collector cars, supercars and a notable crowd at the former Bridgehampton Race Circuit.
The cars may be the stars at The Bridge, but there were plenty of familiar faces on the fairways as the invitation-only automotive gathering celebrated its 10th anniversary in Bridgehampton on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Christie Brinkley, Martha Stewart, Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust and Jill Martin were among those attending The Bridge X, held at The Bridge golf club on the grounds of the former Bridgehampton Race Circuit. Robert Rubin, who has owned the historic race circuit property since 1981 and founded The Bridge golf club there in 2002, was also on hand for the anniversary gathering.
Presented by Mercedes-Benz USA, the annual event once again turned the course into a sprawling automotive showcase, bringing together rare collector cars, vintage racing machines, supercars and hypercars from private collections. This year’s displays included Porsche 911 RS models, Ferraris and Mercedes-Benz classics and contemporary performance cars, with the event also marking Mercedes-Benz’s 140th anniversary.
The setting remains part of what distinguishes The Bridge from the typical concours. The golf club occupies the site of the former Bridgehampton Race Circuit, built in 1957 and once a major stop on the American racing circuit. The Bridge was created in part to celebrate and preserve that automotive history, which remains visible throughout the property.
The Bridge X weekend continued Sunday, Sept. 20, with Cars & Coffee, presented by 1600 Veloce, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Bridgehampton Museum. The free, public gathering brought out classic, vintage, exotic and specialty vehicles and gave car enthusiasts a chance to take part in a weekend otherwise centered around the invitation-only main event.
The weekend concluded with The Bridge at Topping Rose House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, in the gardens of Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton. The ticketed gathering, limited to 500 guests, featured an exhibition of rare classic automobiles, food by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, cocktails and live jazz. Tickets were $275, with a portion of ticket sales benefiting Heart of the Hamptons.
