Katie Couric and Christy Turlington Burns to Headline Southampton Hospital Foundation’s East Hampton Emergency Department Luncheon at Maidstone Club

The award-winning journalist and Every Mother Counts founder will headline the Southampton Hospital Foundation’s signature East Hampton fundraiser supporting the Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department.

Award-winning journalist, bestselling author and Co-founder of Katie Couric Media Katie Couric will moderate a special conversation with internationally renowned model, maternal health advocate, and Founder and President of Every Mother Counts, Christy Turlington Burns, at the Southampton Hospital Foundation’s sixth annual East Hampton Emergency Department Luncheon on Thursday, July 9, at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton.

One of the East End’s signature summer philanthropic events, the annual luncheon benefits the Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department (EHED), helping advance access to high-quality emergency care for residents and visitors across the East End.

Co-chaired by Jill Davis, Kate Davis, Kristin Douglass, Hollis Forbes, Liz Lange and Mary Margaret Trousdale, this year’s luncheon will feature a conversation between Couric and Turlington Burns, whose work has shaped national conversations around journalism, women’s health and maternal care.

Supporting emergency care on the East End

The Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department, located at 400 Pantigo Place, provides 24/7 emergency care for the East End and has treated more than 11,000 patients since opening in 2025. The facility operates as an off-campus extension of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and is one of the few freestanding emergency departments in New York state.

The luncheon will be held Thursday, July 9, at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton. Registration opens at 10:30 a.m., with the presentation beginning promptly at 11 a.m. Very limited availability remains, with tables of 10 ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 and individual tickets starting at $500.
