A Heartbreaking Search: Savannah Guthrie’s Family Faces the Unthinkable

The biggest conversation this week is a heartbreaking headline that has many people praying and searching for answers: reports that Savannah Guthrie’s mother has been missing in Arizona since Saturday, Jan. 31.

As of this writing (Feb. 5), concern appears widespread, with many hoping for her safe return and worrying for the family and Guthrie — the longtime journalist, TODAY co-anchor, mother, wife, and now a deeply worried daughter.

Having worked with Savannah at TODAY (and at the Olympics) for several years, the situation feels especially gut-wrenching and unimaginable. But you don’t have to know her to feel for her — and for the close, caring family behind her — in this frightening moment.

Nothing crystalliizes what matters most like fearing for the safety of someone you hold dear. We can only hope that with the help of law enforcement, clear communication, and a little luck — along with many prayers — this story ends with Nancy’s safe return. Godspeed.

Don Lemon Arrested, Speaks Out

Another major spark this week: the arrest of Don Lemon.

Lemon was taken into federal custody Jan. 30, 2026, in connection with civil rights charges related to an anti-ICE protest he was covering at a church in Minneapolis on Jan. 18, according to published reports.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Lemon said he was entering an elevator when federal agents approached him. He said he did not see a warrant at the time and later reviewed it on his cellphone. Lemon characterized the arrest as an attempt “to embarrass you, to intimidate you, to instill fear” and told Kimmel that prior to the arrest through his lawyer he had offered to turn himself in, but to no avail, and no response.

Lemon also said a diamond bracelet given to him by his husband, Tim Malone, interfered with the arrest and kept snagging on clothes, and that a Homeland Security officer offered to bring it to Malone in his room at the hotel — which Lemon said is how his husband learned of the arrest.

Lemon has since returned to his streaming platforms, and more developments are expected.

Melinda Gates Breaks Her Silence on Painful History

Hell Hath No Fury Like a Woman Scorned

Melinda Gates spoke candidly on NPR’s Wild Card, addressing new and resurfaced details connected to the Epstein files and saying they brought back “very, very painful times in my marriage.”

Pressed by host Rachel Martin, Gates said she would not explain her ex-husband’s actions: “Those questions are for those people and for even my ex-husband. They need to answer to those things, not me.”

Melinda and Bill Gates were married for 27 years. They announced their separation in May 2021, and their divorce was finalized in August 2021.

RHONY Heads South for a Second Act

RHONY Reunited — Sunshine, Style, and Second Acts

Big news for RHON fans: E! has greenlit The Golden Life (working title), a new 10-episode docuseries following Real Housewives of New York alums Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Jill Zarin, and Kelly Bensimon as they reunite in Palm Beach.

Expected to premiere later this year, the show will track their luxury lives, dating, and personal dramas as they navigate live from their second homes. Bravo to the ladies. (Well, in this case, not Bravo, but you get the idea.) It sounds like can’t-miss TV (though that working title may need work).

Cuomo Returns to the Airwaves

Andrew Cuomo has also sparked chatter after landing a weekly Sunday radio show at 5 p.m. on 77 WABC.

The former New York governor will host Pulse of the People. The role is unpaid, according to the New York Post, but offers a new platform. Cuomo said the goal is to “cut through the noise and the rancor” for substantive conversation.

And Finally… About That Groundhog

And finally: did we really need a groundhog to tell us there are six more weeks of winter? After this cold spell — snowbanks, buried cars, blocked driveways — the answer feels obvious.

Which begs the question: can you blame the RHONY crew for heading to Palm Beach?
