Two Hamptons Hotels Earn Michelin Keys in New 2026 Awards
Canoe Place Inn & Cottages and Faraway Sag Harbor earn their first Michelin Keys, while North Fork’s The Menhaden maintains its honor; NYC, Palm Beach and Miami also make a strong showing
Two Hamptons hotels have a new distinction to add to their résumés.
Canoe Place Inn & Cottages in Hampton Bays and Faraway Sag Harbor have each earned their first Michelin Key, joining the Michelin Guide’s newly announced 2026 selection of standout hotels around the world.
And the East End has another familiar name on the list: The Menhaden in Greenport, which maintains its One-Key distinction for 2026, keeping the North Fork represented among Michelin’s top U.S. hotels.
The Michelin Guide unveiled its 2026 Key selection Sept. 18, with 65 new Key additions and upgrades in the United States this year. The Keys are the hotel counterpart to Michelin Stars for restaurants: One Key signifies “a very special stay,” Two Keys “an exceptional stay” and Three Keys “an extraordinary stay.” Michelin inspectors evaluate hotels on factors including design, service, character, value and their connection to their setting.
For Spark readers, the list stretches along a familiar travel route: from the Hamptons and North Fork to New York City, then south to Palm Beach and Miami.
New Michelin Keys in the Hamptons
Canoe Place Inn & Cottages earned One Michelin Key. The historic Hampton Bays property includes 25 inn rooms along with garden cottages and waterfront residences. Michelin highlighted its bright interiors, colorful art, outdoor fire pits and fresh seafood often prepared over a cherrywood grill.
Faraway Sag Harbor also debuts with One Michelin Key. The 67-room-and-suite property offers tennis courts, a heated saltwater pool and bicycles for heading into Sag Harbor Village, along with a hotel bar and Amalfi-inspired dining.
Both East End properties were singled out by Michelin among its notable new waterfront and coastal Key hotels for 2026.
New York City Adds New Keys and Upgrades
New York City again has a deep bench of Michelin Key hotels, with several notable additions and upgrades for 2026.
Perhaps the biggest name is the Waldorf Astoria New York, which debuts with Two Michelin Keys following its extensive restoration and reopening.
Faena New York and W New York – Union Square are among the city’s new One-Key hotels.
Several established luxury properties moved up in the rankings. The Lowell, The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel, and The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad were elevated to Two Michelin Keys.
At Michelin’s highest level, New York City’s Three-Key hotels include Aman New York, Casa Cipriani New York, Crosby Street Hotel and The Whitby Hotel.
Palm Beach Has a Michelin Moment
Palm Beach also has news in the 2026 awards.
The newly reopened Vineta Hotel, the Mediterranean Revival property just off Worth Avenue, debuts with Two Michelin Keys.
The Breakers Palm Beach moves up from One to Two Michelin Keys, putting the iconic oceanfront resort among Michelin’s higher-rated hotel stays.
They are joined in Palm Beach by One-Key properties Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, The Colony Hotel, Palm House and White Elephant Palm Beach.
Miami and Miami Beach
Farther south, Miami and Miami Beach also have a strong presence in the 2026 selection.
The area’s Two-Key hotels are Faena Hotel Miami Beach, Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club and The Setai Miami Beach.
One-Key hotels include 1 Hotel South Beach, The Betsy – South Beach, Hotel Greystone, Mayfair House Hotel & Garden, Mr. C Miami – Coconut Grove and The Moore.
The 2026 global selection includes 2,832 Michelin Key hotels — 2,020 with One Key, 657 with Two Keys and just 155 with Three Keys.
For East End travelers, the latest list offers both some hometown bragging rights and plenty of ideas for the next check-in — whether that’s in Manhattan or somewhere considerably warmer this winter.
