From comedy and live music to art, culture and one of the East End’s biggest Labor Day traditions, here are the events worth catching for the unofficial last weekend of summer.

Labor Day weekend may mark the unofficial end of summer, but the Hamptons still have plenty on the calendar. From the 80th annual Shinnecock Indian Powwow and headliner comedy to live music, art, dance, and talks, here are Spark Hamptons’ Top 5 Event Picks and more to catch over the long weekend.

80th Annual Shinnecock Indian Powwow

One of the East End’s most important Labor Day traditions marks its 80th year. The Shinnecock Indian Nation welcomes visitors for four days of Native American singing and dancing, drum and dance contests, traditional arts and crafts, cultural demonstrations and Indigenous food. Grand Entry takes place throughout the weekend, with more than $50,000 in prize money awarded in drum and dance contests and specials.

Bonkers in the Boroughs — World Premiere Comedy by Joy Behar

Joy Behar closes out Bay Street Theater’s summer season with the world premiere of Bonkers in the Boroughs, five original short plays written by Behar and performed by Behar and friends. G.E. Smith’s Portraits: Samantha Fish

Two formidable guitarists, one intimate Hamptons stage. Former Saturday Night Live bandleader G.E. Smith welcomes Grammy-nominated blues-rock powerhouse Samantha Fish for an evening mixing music, spontaneous performances and stories from their careers. Smith’s résumé stretches from Bob Dylan and Hall & Oates to Roger Waters, while Fish has built her own reputation with powerhouse vocals and a sound that moves through blues, rock and soul.

See Sanford Biggers: Drift through the artist’s eyes. Biggers leads a special tour of his first major solo museum exhibition on the East End, featuring textiles, prints, sculpture and site-specific installations drawing on influences ranging from Buddhism and Gee’s Bend quilts to graffiti, African sculpture and Japanese Buddhist mandalas. Bert Stern – Marilyn Monroe, The Centennial 1926 – 2026

The legendary photographs of Marilyn Monroe (born June 1926) by the late, great Vogue photographer Bert Stern, who photographed Monroe at her last sitting just two months before her passing.
