Almond’s Artists & Writers Series Welcomes Journalist and Songwriter Emily Weitz to Bridgehampton

The East End writer shares the stories and songs behind No Song Left Behind at a Nov. 2 dinner featuring music, conversation and a three-course meal.

For years, Emily Weitz has told stories through journalism, with bylines in The New York Times, Vice and the Sag Harbor Express. Now, she’s putting words to music — and inviting others to find their voices along the way.

On Monday, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m., Weitz will be the featured guest at Almond restaurant’s Artists & Writers dinner series in Bridgehampton, sharing the stories and lyrics behind her latest creative project, No Song Left Behind.

Emily Weitz

The songbook features lyrics from 14 original songs recorded with her band, M Takes the Mic, along with a link to listen to the music. The group recorded the songs in November 2025 and has been releasing them individually throughout 2026, one each month, beginning with “Brave Girl, New World” in January.

At Almond, Weitz will explore how lyrics become songs, weaving together personal stories, readings and a little audience participation through singing.

The timing adds another dimension. With the dinner taking place on the eve of Election Day, Weitz’s message about finding and using one’s voice carries particular resonance. For her, M Takes the Mic is as much an invitation for others to express themselves as it is a personal creative venture.

Weitz, whose work has also appeared in Longreads and Nourish Magazine, is a familiar presence in the East End’s literary and arts community. Her move into songwriting marks a new chapter in a career built around the written word.
