East End Collected: Artists Talk & Tour Their Work at Southampton Arts Center
Deborah Acquino. East End Collected IX. Southampton Arts Center.
Meet 25 participating artists as they discuss the stories and creative processes behind their work on display during three special gallery tours, Oct. 31, Nov. 14 and Dec. 5.
What’s the story behind a painting, sculpture or other work of art? At Southampton Arts Center, visitors to East End Collected IX, an exhibition showcasing 29 artists from across Long Island’s East End, will have the chance to hear directly from the people who created the works on display.
Now in its ninth edition, East End Collected celebrates the region’s vibrant arts community, bringing together established and emerging artists working in painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, ceramics and other media. And on three Saturdays this fall, visitors can get a more personal look at the exhibition.

About East End Collected IX
Originally conceived and curated by artist Paton Miller, East End Collected is now in its ninth edition. Miller has teamed up for the second time with Christina Mossaides Strassfield, executive director of Southampton Arts Center, to curate the exhibition.
With no prescribed theme, the show brings together artists with different backgrounds, styles and approaches, focusing on those whose work has not previously appeared in East End Collected.
“The artistic diversity of our area continues to amaze me,” Miller said. “These East End Collective exhibitions are chronicling what is happening here in real time. History will make the final press.”
The exhibition includes longtime members of the East End arts community alongside newer arrivals, reflecting the range of creative work being produced across Suffolk County.
Artist statements and biographies accompany the works, offering additional insight into the people and creative practices behind them.
The exhibition, which opened Oct. 3, remains on view through Dec. 27.
