Nancy Marks and Daryl Roth Celebrate The Kings of Vegas in East Hampton

The bestselling novel by Karen Mack and Jennifer Kaufman, one of the summer’s most talked-about books, was celebrated alongside Ruthie Rogers’ Table 4 at the River Cafe during an intimate literary gathering.

Nancy Marks and Daryl Roth hosted an intimate East Hampton luncheon on July 11 honoring bestselling authors Karen Mack and Jennifer Kaufman’s acclaimed novel, The Kings of Vegas, one of the summer’s most talked-about books. Roth, the 14-time Tony Award-winning producer whose productions have earned eight Pulitzer Prizes, joined Marks in welcoming guests for an afternoon that also celebrated Ruthie Rogers’ cookbook, Table 4 at the River Cafe.

The gathering drew a distinguished guest list that included Katie Couric, Barbara Guggenheim, Elisa Lipsky-Karasz and Rogers for an afternoon of conversation, books and sweeping ocean views.

Named to Town & Country‘s and W magazine’s Best Books of Summer lists, The Kings of Vegas has also attracted Hollywood attention and is currently in development as a television series.

Karen Mack, a Golden Globe Award- and Emmy Award-winning film and television producer, draws on her family’s three-generation Las Vegas legacy in the suspense novel, which follows Josie King, the daughter of a powerful casino dynasty who returns home after her father’s death to confront organized crime, family rivalries and a battle for control of the family empire.

Mack has co-authored four bestselling novels with Jennifer Kaufman, an award-winning journalist and former Los Angeles Times staff writer. Together, they are the authors of the national bestsellers Literary Lovers and Freud’s Mistress.
