The museum’s summer fundraiser honored community leaders while supporting exhibitions, educational programs and its continued growth.
The Southampton African American Museum hosted its annual Bubbles & Bloom Brunch at the Southampton Inn on July 19, 2026. Event chair Jean Shafiroff joined museum founder and CEO Brenda Simmons in welcoming supporters for an afternoon celebrating African American history, art and creativity. Honorees included Dede Gotthelf, Claude and Yvette Weir, and Sharon Joseph.
The fundraiser featured an awards ceremony, auction, live entertainment and an interactive Bloom Bar, with proceeds supporting the museum’s exhibitions, educational initiatives and public programming.
